New Loop Products for 2010/11

The following products will be on the market for 2011. Some of them are already available, for some of them you have to wait a bit.

LOOP Lines:

Some completely new lines will be available next year. They are very promising, so I want to let you know a bit about them.

Single Hand Lines:

new

The Evotec 85wf is an ideal line for smaller rivers that withstands even strong wind with ease.

The Evotec 100wf with a little longer taper is designed for medium sized rivers.

The Evotec 140wf is a line with a 14 m head plus 2 m rear taper that will probably be a line that will do all what is needed from the technical side and also supports really long casts. I have not got a test line yet but according to the taper it will probably be a good line for the EFFA instructor test.

The Evotec Tropic, designed for saltwater fly fishing and fishing in hot weather will be available with tapers of 13,6 m (#6-12 F and #10-12 F/I) and 18 m(#12 F/Sink4)

Besides that some low budget lines from the Xact Series will be available, too. They are the Xact Single-Hand WF and the Xact Double-Hand WF.

The best sellers Opti Stream, Opti Stillwater and Opti Creek are still available as they showed great performance.

Double Hand Lines:

The new Evotec double hand lines will be available in #7-8,#8-9,#9-10,#10-11,#11-12. You can choose among Low Float, Low Float/Fast Int and Low Float/Sink 4. The tapers are between 10,5 and 12,5 m in length. Of course the weight of the lines is more important than the class as you know the problem of AFTMA classification with shooting heads that are more than 9,14m long.

With the LTS Across the Syrstads have developed a line for night fishing for salmon and seatrout. Its overall length is  18,3 m but despite of its length it still supports the casting with the underhand technique. The line can be cut preferably from the rear end according to the needs of the caster. The LTS Across fits to rods between 14' and 17' in length (#9-12). In full length it weighs 54g. I have tested the line and I can tell you that it casts a really great distance. The front taper is thin so you cannot cast it with strong wind, but anyway that is not what the line was designed for. You can cast larger flies with it without any problems.

Loop has also designed some competition fly casting lines as the market seems to ask for them:

The Opti Distance 165wf (taper length 16,5 m), Opti Maximal Distance 210wf (taper length 21,3 m!total length 39m). Please notice that these lines, especially the 210wf are produced for tournament casting on the lawn but not for fishing. For fishing you better choose shorter tapers.

LOOP reels

Not many news in regard of reels. The Evotec G4 reel is now available in black as well. There will also be an Xact reel(new!) for low budget. It is an improved version of the Evotec CLW.

LOOP rods:

Opti River, a 5 piece 9'8'' #7 rod now available with x-grip

There will now be also complete kits(rod, reel, line, backing, leader) available of the following rods in different line classes:

  • Opti Power Spey
  • LTS Slingshot(Try the 13'2''!)
  • Evotec, Xact
  • Incite(new! , replaces Adventure)
  • pike booster

As you can see, there are many new products to show up in the new season. There are also new waders, jackets ... Maybe there is a Christmas present for you ore your beloved among them.
